Spring Run 2023

Threatened rain failed to materialise and instead the skies cleared and provided a blue expanse for the well supported 1020 Spring Road Run which took place on National Drive It Day.

The blue of the sky was reflected in the thousands of bluebells that could be seen on the 44 mile route devised by Adrian Mullins which headed out from Wimborne and Blandford (using less travelled country lanes) into parts of North Dorset eventually reaching Bulbarrow Hill, noted for its spring flower-filled woodland and hedgerows.

The 20 strong contingent which ranged from an MGA and an MGC to a stream of MGBs, a Midget and a ZR and onto modern classics carrying the MGF and MGTF badge provided a colourful sight in the glorious sunshine.

The road book eventually brought everyone back to the Chequers Inn at Lytchett Matravers where most participants had booked in for the plate bulging Sunday Roast and dessert selection – the sticky toffee pudding was a particular success.

Thanks to Pip and Ursula for once again organizing the event and to Adrian for his tulip diagram route that offered new perspectives of the county.
