Spring Road Run & Hog Roast

The tail end of storm Hannah failed to deter 35 club cars heading out on National Drive It Day 9April 28) for the now traditional Spring Road Run and Hog Roast – this year finishing at Harmans Cross overlooking the picturesque Swanage steam railway.

The 55 mile route devised by David Bailey and George Parrott took participants west through locations such as historic Milton Abbas and Milborne St Andrew before heading south into the Isle of Purbeck and the delights of some of the quietest roads in Dorset with the occasional glimpses of Poole Harbour. At the lunch stop the hog roast and chocolate cake was welcomed by everyone, the well appointed Harmans Cross village hall being the perfect venue.
