1020 Summer Run and Cream Tea – Saturday 25th July

Sandwiched between two very poor weather days, the run took place in bright, warm, dry weather. Starting with a lunch at the Hamworthy Club, our cars started leaving the car park at around 2.15 pm for a 45 mile run through the back roads of Dorset ending at Pamphill Parish Hall to be greeted by a wonderful cream tea produced for us by Penny and Roger Leach. Roger and Penny were assisted by Chris and Pat who provided continuous pots of tea and coffee. The scones, jam and clotted cream were superb and rounded off with a mouth watering selection of cakes, all made by Penny. Roger and Penny were also responsible for planning the route and well deserve our thanks and congratulations for everything they did for us on the day. There was a quiz built in with the route folder, a series of questions based on visual sights passed during the run. The quiz resulted in a win for Paula and Andy Munden, Well done to you both. This run will be the last one that Roger and Penny organise for us. Due to his other commitments, Roger is standing down from the committee. We are greatly indebted for his work and planning over the last 4 plus years as our runs organiser. Thank you Roger and Penny.
