A colourful collection of 35 club cars gleamed in the sunshine at the Hamworthy Club for our annual Members’ Choice evening last month with the Colin Sexton Memorial Shield at stake for the car voted their favourite by other club members.
With a wide diversity of MGs to view from popular classics, such as the MGB Roadster, MGB V8 and MGC to modern evocations such as the MGZS and MG4 the voting was spread across a wide range of models.
But in the end there was a clear points winner – the lovingly cared for 1969 Old English White MGB GT of Richard Miller. A clearly very surprised Richard was presented with the Colin Sexton Shield by Colin’s son George (also in attendance were his brothers Will and Ben) and he also collected a goodie bag of car care products from evening sponsor Wayne Healey.
As well as the usual monthly raffle there will also a sale of MG items which raised money for our charities and there was a remembrance slide show on the MG life of the late Graham Lowe, a former club chairman.
