British Motor Heritage Centre – Gaydon

A great day out for club members. Boarding our coach at 9.00 am at the Hamworthy Club, we made our way to Gaydon. A special coffee stop had been arranged en-route – a visit to the MGCC at Kimber House in Abingdon. We were very well received by the staff on duty and after our coffees; we were able to visit the small museum and the archive which is shortly to be re-housed in a purpose built extension. Several of our members took the opportunity to join the MGCC on that visit. Back on the coach we travelled on to Gaydon, arriving at lunchtime. Many members went straight into the cafe/restaurant for lunch so that they could view the exhibits undisturbed through the afternoon. The collection of cars is very good, from very early to modern; I liked the ‘Timeline’, which showed not only the vehicles but also provided information related to motoring in conjunction with the age of the cars. Chris Adamson organised the trip for us and Tim the driver provided us with a very comfortable journey, we thank them both.
