Swanage Carnival

This year, the carnival organisers added, for the first time, a Vintage, Classic and Modern Car Show to the list of scheduled events. 11 cars from 1020 made the journey from Hamworthy Sports Club to Swanage seafront in convoy. On our arrival we found 7 cars already parked, the parking staff was overjoyed to see our convoy arrive and we were quickly parked up in rows in the allotted area.

The atmosphere was really good with lots of holidaymakers and locals coming to have a look at the cars and chat with the owners. One of the local classic car owners who attended the show with his very nice MG C GT joined 1020 as a member. The informal ‘Car I would most like to go home in’ was won by a Morgan, Roger Burton with his MG A was second and Danni Lowe third with her MG B.

This was an excellent day and I hope that even more of you will be able to join in next year, as we have already been invited to return.
