Athelhampton House Garden Party & Picnic

The rear lawn at Athelhampton House

Our major annual charity fund raising event, this year in support of Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and Troop Aid, took place in brilliant sunshine on the 19th August.A varied selection of MG models arrived and parked on the lawns of the House.

For the first time we had invited a guest club, the local Morris Minor group, to join us for the day.

The New Forest Dixieland Band played for us all day. Their music suited the venue very well helping to create an excellent atmosphere. The duck race provided the usual light-hearted entertainment.

The “Car of the Day” award went to Peter Chance for his beautiful 1934 supercharged MG PA and the “Furthest Travelled” award was won by a visitor from Brighton.

We are grateful to Patrick & Andrea Cooke, the owners of Athelhampton House, for once again welcoming 1020 within the grounds of their home.
