Duncan and Fizz Gee arriving at CCOTP on New Year’s Day
On New Year’s Day, many 1020 members gathered on Bournemouth promenade, with many other local car clubs, for the traditional meeting of classic car enthusiasts.
This year, two of our members, Duncan and Fizz Gee, officially completed their marathon Round Britain Coastal Trip by returning to their original starting point. They spent 7 years, covering 12,200 miles in total, splitting the journey into 1 month segments each year, to travel a section of the coast, except for the Scottish section which took them nearly 3 months.
Nigel Knowles, Regional Secretary of Home Counties South (Region 10) arrived just in time to wave the chequered flag over the much travelled car, with hood down, just before the rain started. The wet weather did not deter the huge turnout of vehicles from attending this very popular event.
