1009’s New Forest Run – 2009

New Forest Run 2009 – Sunday 7th June. – entry £15 per car.

This year’s New Forest Run starts, once again, from the Scout Field at Copythorn. This is our favourite venue for the start of the run, it has everything; plenty of room for the cars, somewhere to shelter if the worst should happen with the weather, and (most importantly) somewhere to cook our famous bacon butties! The run takes in approximately 80-85 miles of beautiful countryside, wildlife and peace and quiet.

Arrive any time from 9.00am – all cars away by 11.00 please!

The Scout Field is a convenient starting point, just alongside the M27, with easy access from Bournemouth and the West, Southampton and the East, and Salisbury and the North. Our start offers us a good choice of routes to different parts of the New Forest.

For sat nav users the nearest postcode is SO40 2PE (the Empress of Blandings, just a few hundred yards to the north).

A good breakfast is essential for any car event and our New Forest Run bacon butties, at a very reasonable cost, have become legendary! Your £15 entry fee will include a route book, rally plate, finishers’ plaque, and a small packed lunch for each person, as well as the chance to share in this beautiful part of the country for the day.

Profits from the day will be split between 2 local charities – Honeypot, who provide respite care and support for vulnerable children and young carers, and the Children’s Friendship League, who take under-privileged children on summer camps, day trips and Christmas parties.

We will be having our usual Saturday night get together, this year upstairs at the Empress of Blandings pub, just up the road from the Scout Field. It’s an informal evening, we’re just gathering for a few drinks and some chat, and anyone who’s in the area will be welcome to join us at no cost!
