South Downs Run 2008

An early warning of a "must do" event for your members’ diaries.

The arrangements will be much the same as last year except that we are moving the start to Chichester. The reason that we are doing this is that we feel the facilities at Chichester are better and it also enables us to make some further minor changes to the route.

Attached is a map of the car park we intend to start from and an entry application form.

I just need to mention the conditions of entry which we expect everyone to abide by – they are:

1. The driver of the vehicle will have a valid driving licence.

2. The entry will be clean, in a roadworthy condition and covered by Third Party Liability Insurance as required by the Road Traffic Act 1960 or any amending or substituted legislation.

3. Entrants will abide by all Rules and Regulations for the Event laid down by the Organisers or their Stewards and by the Chichester Council in respect of the start area and the Eastbourne Borough Council in respect of the finishing area.

4. Entrants are entered entirely at their own risk.

5. Entrants shall conduct themselves in such a manner so as not to cause nuisance or annoyance to the general public and shall also observe good road behaviour and comply with the Highway Code as is required by Section 5 (C) of the Motor Vehicles (Competitions and Trials) Regulations 1969.

We have held the entry fee to £15 and we have ordered the usual outstanding weather!

I look forward to hearing from you.
