The Annual Classic Car Show was held in the grounds of Braemore House last Sunday and Mike Holloway attended and reports:
The weather forecast was not good, but if you wait for the weather you end up going nowhere - as it turned out not a shower all day. We arrived to be greeted by Graham and Robin at the gate and Colin was also on duty. We parked around the show ring next to a rare Radley mini (John Lennon had one), the field was full of various club stands and there were trade stands as well. A live band kept us entertained as well as a demo by the Fire brigade. The Breamore steam engine was nice to see. There was a good attendance by 1020 and there was a good MG range, from M type to T type, ZB, three MGAs, lots of MGBs and Midgets too. The range of cars was amazing several Rolls, pre war Bentley and virtually every other Marque was present. There was also a large display of motorcyles: Harley, Honda and several British bikes. I think a large some of money must have been made for the Dorset Air Ambulance and Tracey was there as their representative. The final suprise of the day was when our MGA won car of the show we were presented with a lovely engraved silver salver, bet that rattled the purists! Mike. |
