 1020's Annual MG Gathering and Picnic at ATHELHAMPTON HOUSE on Sunday 9th August was another huge success! 166 MGs ( including TWO SVs ) and £1,000 raised for Dorset Scope. Thank you to all who supported 1020's Big Day !

On Saturday 10th October 2009, 1020  Hosted it's Silver Anniversary Dinner at The Hotel Miramar with our Guest of Honour  Roche Bentley from MGOC HQ , 1012 Area Secretary Nigel Knowles and Patrick and Andrea Cooke from Athelhampton House. It has been my privilege to be the 1020 Area Secretary since I started the club in October 1984. Thank you to all members , past and present, for allowing me this honour and for making 1020 what it is today.

2009 has been a much quieter year for 1020 but Athelhampton House still attracted 166 MGs with TWO SVs , a dozen MG ZA/ZB Saloons and a dozen P and T Types ( see picture Gallery ! ) raising £1,000 for Dorset Scope ( soon to be renamed "Divers Abilities Plus" ).
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended too and we raised £200 for them too !
My thanks to all the 1020 team who ran the event and to the MGOCs who supported the event such as Exeter MGOC , Durnovaria MGOC , Sarum Moonrakers MGOC , Southampton & New Forest MGOC and Runnymede MGOC who brough a large contingent !

My apologies to those who noticed Athelhampton this year had VERY lttle advertising but they only had to look on this web site , ring me or ring Athelhampton ( or check THEIR web site ! ). We still put out over 2,000 newsletters , on good old fashioned PAPER too so very little chance of missing what 1020s's up to ( I am updating my sections here as you can see..... ).

Saturday 10th October is 1020's 25th Anniversary ; yes , I started 1020 a quarter of a century ago and I reckon I am the longest serving Arae Secretary for the MGOC now. ( It took me 20 years to get my MGB Roadster "1846 MG" on the front cover of "Enjoying MG" in October 2004 so who knows what they've got in store for me in October 2009 ???

Sunday 16th August : 1020 visits the Bournemouth Aviation Museum.
Twenty MGs and a Riley Drop Head Coupe gave a great display.
