MG PICNIC & GATHERING at ATHELHAMPTON HOUSE:

1020's Big day was on Sunday 10th August 2008!

See the photos on the 1020 dedicated Photo gallery on this web site.
Thank you to Adrian Oates for uploading them so fast !

Despite the terrible weather BEFORE the event , the day was virtually sunny and rain free and we attracted 166 MGs on the day raising £1,355 for Dorset Scope, see pictures from the day on their web site:
www.dorset-scope.org.uk

MG of the Day was a black TD owned by the Elliotts from Durnovaria MGOC
Furthest Travelled was Steve Trossell from East Yorkshire in his MGB.

Many of the prizes such as the Fiver Raffle and the Duck Race saw the prizes donated BACK to Dorset Scope so our thanks to those kind people. Exeter MGOC member Sean Leverton won the Rocking Horse in the 'Name the Nag' competition. Thank you for your support, again, Sean. 1020er Mike Holloway who kindly donated the horse will arrange delivery for you. We were thrilled to welcome Mrs Phyllis Edwards to Athelhampton this year; she Founded Dorset Scope in 1955.

Our thanks to Patrick Cooke for making us so welcome at his home once more (it was our 16th Athelhampton MG Day there, helping to raise £20,000 in total for our chosen charity Dorset Scope). Thank you to Graham Lowe and ALL the 1020 Team who ensured a warm welcome and another very successful 1020 day. Thank you to all who came along and supported us , including Chichester MGOC (Largest MGOC contingent), Southampton & New Forest MGOC, Durnovaria MGOC, and representatives from Sarum MGOC and Epsom MGOC. The MGM Group with their MG Maestros were especially welcome as the now 25 years old MG Maestro was the 'Featured MG of the Day'.

I'm sure rafts of pictures from the day will appear in the 1020 Galleries very shortly.
Nigel P. Hedges, Area Secretary, Bournemouth & Poole MG Owners' Club.
