David described the preparations and festivities at the great manor house of Kingston Lacy when Henry de Lacy, 3rd Earl of Lincoln entertained King Edward l and his court at Christmas 1308. The detail of the story is taken directly from the Kingston Lacy manorial records. At this time, Kingston Lacy was one of, if not the largest estate in the country.
